Nils-Ole Zib (1955) is a furniture designer with a Master’s degree in Design from KADK, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and has trained as a cabinetmaker in the workshops of the renowned Danish furniture maker Rud Rasmussens Snedkerier. He established his own company, ZIBIZ Möbeldesign, in 1988. Over the years Nils-Ole has produced furniture designs for a large number of Scandinavian companies and his work has been widely exhibited at fairs and in museums throughout Europe. He has also held courses in Scandinavian design and led master classes in bentwood techniques at several universities and colleges of design in the USA, Cuba, Denmark and Sweden. Nils-Ole summarises his philosophy for furniture design thus: “The design lies hidden in the details. Good design is not when nothing more needs to be added, but when nothing more can be taken away.” Kaz stool was presented for Karl Andersson & Söner in 2019.
